REQUIREMENTS
  • Age:
    •  [CSL and CFL]is available for both beginners and those of intermediate levels of proficiency from ages [5 to 8] with limited or no Chinese speaking environment at home. New students will be assessed before enrollment.
    • [Pre-K] is available for both beginners and those of intermediate levels of proficiency from ages [4 to 5]. Must be at least 4 years old before December 31, 2024.
    • [Phonetics – Zhuyin ] is available for both beginners and those of intermediate levels of proficiency from ages [5-7]. Must be at least 5 years old before December 31,2024.
    • [First Grade and up] is available for both beginners and those of intermediate levels of proficiency from ages [6 to 16]. Must be at least 6 years old before December 31, 2024.
  • Uniform: Students are required to wear uniforms during classes, which can be purchased at the beginning of the school year. Navy Blue Khaki trousers and white sneakers may be purchased at any stores such as Kohl’s, Target or Walmart.
  • Extracurricular electivesare optional classes offered from 11:45AM to 12:35PM. (not available for 9th/10th grade student)
  • Parent Volunteer Hours: Parents are encouraged to participate in school activities during the school year and volunteer for duties during the school year.
  • Registration fee: $50 (non-refundable) is required for all new students and returning students. Returning students, who enroll in class before 05/01/26 may have the $50 tuition fee discount.
  • $600 :Tuition per child registering for class Pre-k to 8rh grade.
  • $700 : Tuition per child registering for 9th and 10th grade (Tuition includes $20 mandatory AP Chinese Practice Test).
  • $50:registration fee
  • Early bird, $50 tuition fee discount if register before 05/01/26.
  • If registering after April 30, 2026 and on or before the 4th week of the school year, full tuition + a non-refundable registration fee of $50 are required.
  • If registering between the 4th to 8th week of the school year, 85% of the tuition + a non-refundable registration fee of $50 are required.
  • If registering after the 8th week to the end of the first semester, 80% of the tuition + a non-refundable registration fee of $50 are required.
  • Students transferring into the school during the 2nd semester are required to pay 65% of the tuition.
  • Students who withdraw during the 2nd
    semester will not receive any refund for
    the tuition.
  • Second Sibling discount $20 (is only applicable after the first sibling has already registered).
Registration Dates
  • Returning students and siblings of returning students begin: 3/22/26
  • New students begin: 5/21/26
  • If registering after May 12, 2024 and on or before the 4th week of the school year, full tuition and a non-refundable registration fee of $40 are required.
  • If registering after the 4th to 8th week of the school year, 85% of the tuition and a non-refundable registration fee of $40 are required.
  • If registering after the 8th week to the end of the first semester, 80% of the tuition and a non-refundable registration fee of $40 are required.
  • Students transferring into the school during the 2nd semester are required to pay 65% of the tuition. Students who need to withdraw during the 2nd semester will not receive any refund for the tuition.

Please fill out the Withdrawal/Tuition Refund Request Form and email the form to school. School finance department will refund in the same payment method.

Refund processing time may take 3~4 weeks, 

  • NO REFUND will be given for the registration fee
  • $40 refund processing fee will be deducted from  the refund.
  • Requests received before school start 8/25/25:  

Final  Refund :

   (100% of paid tuition) –  $40 processing fee.

  • Requests received during school 4th Week (include  4th week):                                      

  Final Refund : 

   (75%  of paid tuition) –  $40 processing fee.

  • Requests received during school 5th to 7th Week (include 7th week):                                 

   Final Refund : 

   (50% of paid tuition) –  $40 processing fee.

  • Tuition is not refundable after 7th Week of fall term.

The academic year is divided into two semesters. If a student has three unexcused absences in either semester, it will be considered a voluntary withdrawal, and no refund will be issued.

ELECTIVE CLASS REFUND POLICY

       (*Subject to change per school.)

Elective classes run for 30 weeks during the full academic year.

  • Each class requires a minimum of 8 students to open. Students will be numbered based on the order of registration, and classes will be assigned according to this order. The school reserves the right to determine class capacity and may refuse enrollment based on student circumstances. 
  • Refund Policy for Talent Class:

   > $20 will be deducted per week of attendance.
   > A $20 processing fee will be charged for          class change requests submitted after the fourth week of classes.
   > A $40 processing fee will be charged for withdrawal from an elective class.

   > **No refunds will be issued after the seventh week of classes.

   > **Material fees for enrichment classes are non- refundable.  

  • Parents are required to take turns serving as volunteer    parents in the classroom, assisting the teacher and         maintaining order and cleanliness in the classroom.

Extracurricular electives are optional classes offered from 11:45AM to 12:35PM. (not available for 9th/10th grade student)

Textbook – Let’s Learn Mandarin

All new students (first grade and above) need to take a placement test. Further notification of test dates will be provided later.
Determined by the order of complete registration.
A weekly reminders regarding school events will be sent on Thursday either to your Email or as text or voice message.

Parents are strongly urged to participate in school activities throughout the school year including: Orientation, First Day of School Assembly, Parent/Teacher Conference, Chinese New Year Celebration Humanity Class, Buddha-Bathing Ceremony Humanity Class (May), Last Day of School Assembly.

The maximum class size for each Elective Class is 15 Students.
**Material fee $60 will be collected at the time of the first class.  at least 8 years old

Tzu Chi Academy reserves the right to cancel any class should the minimum class size of 8 students not be met. Elective class enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis based on when the student registers.

  • The school reserves the right to limit the number of students in any class and reserves the right to reject any registration.
    There will be no refunds for the registration fee.
  • There are approximately 30 weeks in the school year and a $20. deduction per week. If a student withdraws after the 7th week, there is no refund.
  • The process fee of $20 will be charged for each elective  class change after the second week of the class.
  • Non-refundable material fee for elective classes.
  • Parents must take turns acting as class parents. Class parents must assist the teacher in keeping the classroom neat and clean.
