After thirty years of gentle persistence, we can see the impact, see the change, and witness the effects, of compassion in the world
Tzu Chi USA was formally established in 1989, becoming the very heart of the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation’s humanitarian work overseas. From the foundation’s origin in Hualien, Taiwan, to these new roots in California, Tzu Chi volunteers have always maintained that they would never give up or back down from a challenge if they could help even one person in need. Putting this gentle strength and boundless love into action, volunteers have brought forth positive change in the hearts and minds of communities near and far. Over the past thirty years, Tzu Chi has given their kindness and care to even more people, making Tzu Chi a harmonious and steadfast source of support in American society.
