About The Midwest Region

Midwest Region Office

Tzu Chi’s Midwest Region office was established in 1993 and is located in the Chicago suburb of Darien, Ill. Key services provided by our volunteers include relief for disasters such as for tornadoes and floods. We also help with the influx of immigrants from Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria.

Tzu Chi Mid-Atlantic

  • Beginning March 15, Tzu Chi Academy classes will resume online only

  • Beginning March 6, our Food Pantry program will continue until March 23, but change operations as follows:

    • Food will be pre-packaged

    • Volunteers’ temperatures will be checked, especially those who carry foods to care recipients’ vehicles

    • Care recipients will be given hand sanitizer before filling out the necessary paperwork in their cars

    • Program will be suspended from March 23-31st, or until further notice
