Tzu Chi Seattle Forms Alliance With ICHS to Combat the Omicron Variant

Tzu Chi buckets, which usually house stable foods, are now being converted to save education and prevent the pandemic from spreading in Sierra Leone.
The devastating flood that hit Eastern Kentucky on July 26, 2022, wiped out the homes of thousands, took the lives of 39, and hurt the hearts of everyone left in its wake. Tzu Chi Midwest was the closest branch to the disaster area, but our teams rallied and planned, making the eight-hour trip for a two-day distribution relief event.

On June 18, volunteers from Tzu Chi Midwest and Tzu Chi’s Detroit Service Center traveled to Gaylord, Michigan, to distribute cash cards and eco-blankets to survivors of a tornado that touched down in May of 2022. Masks, first aid supplies, and Tzu Chi Journals were provided — spreading love and care, and strengthening faith in recovery.
This fall, you’re invited to a special program spotlighting the plight of those seeking safety from conflict, disasters due to climate change, and poverty.
Tzu Chi Mid-Atlantic Region held their annual community-wide health fair on Sunday, September 18, 2022. A team of 27 dedicated physicians and medical professionals from New York and New Jersey, and two Daai Optometry mobile clinics joined the service team to provide vision exams for those in need after a three-year hiatus.
On the morning of June 11, 2022, Tzu Chi Long Island’s biweekly food pantry welcomed local community members who arrived to pick up fresh fruits and vegetables. On that day, another special event awaited them as well. Tzu Chi USA’s Long Island Service Center had held its first 21-Day Vegetarian Challenge, and on the final day, participants gathered to celebrate their efforts.
