Tzu Chi Volunteers Bring Fun and Education at Community Resource Fair in East Palo Alto, Northern California

In December 2022, twenty-five board members and staff members of the Asian and Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) came to Tzu Chi medical center and headquarters to learn about Tzu Chi’s medical mission and to foster a deeper mutual trust and growing partnerships.
Over the past 14 years, Tzu Chi volunteers in Tijuana have worked hard to serve the community. The Open House for Neighbors on December 3rd attracted nearly 300 people from the community to celebrate these accomplishments.
At the invitation of Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis’s Office, Tzu Chi USA joined the Los Angeles County government’s annual festival for the unhoused on December 22, 2022, presenting services such as eye screenings to 200 unhoused attendees.
The CZU Lightning Complex fires in Northern California began on August 16th, 2020, spanning 86,509 acres. Soon after, volunteers from Tzu Chi USA’s Northwest Region began providing disaster relief to empower survivors with the love and resources needed to rebuild their lives. In 2022, Tzu Chi volunteers reunited with residents of a small community known as Last Chance to check in on their individual situations and offer medical outreach.
Tzu Chi joined hands with representatives of communities in the inland areas of Southern California to discuss how to provide more tailored assistance to the local disadvantaged groups and low-income households.
