Tzu Chi USA Northeast Region Long Island Service Center’s Good Health Day was held amidst the rain on July 16, 2023. 87 residents registered for the day’s free clinic, about 137 volunteers and 32 medical professionals came to serve; a total of 197 medical treatments and 27 haircuts were provided.
On June 10, 2023, Tzu Chi Mid-Atlantic Region held its annual Scholarship Award Ceremony. A total of 19 high school graduates with outstanding academic performance were awarded scholarships.
Tzu Chi USA’s Northwest Region held a three-in-one Buddha Bathing Ceremony and exhibit, “Respect and Gratitude – The Footprints of Buddha,” inviting people from diverse religions to gather together and participate. The solemn and peaceful prayers deeply touched the attendees.
Tzu Chi USA’s Headquarters hosted its annual Buddha Bathing Ceremony at its campus, where diverse faith leaders and community partners were invited to join hands for a day of unity and contemplation. The ceremony was conducted in English and blended the blessings of various religions and ethnicities, serving as a testament to the positive power of great love in action.

Tzu Chi Education Foundation designed a unique Compassionate Vegetarian Plan around the theme of “friends not animals” for the 2023 “Great Kindness Challenge” to promote vegetarianism with tens of millions of teachers and students in more than 30,000 schools around the world.
Due to COVID-19, many organizations no longer provide free tax filing services, rendering low-income taxpayers helpless. In light of this, Tzu Chi volunteers across the United States stepped up to help the influx of applicants.
After a residential fire broke out in Gaithersburg, Maryland, on November 16, 2022, Tzu Chi Greater Washington DC Region participated in the county government’s emergency distribution event.
Tzu Chi Elementary School in Walnut, California, organized a clothes recycling drive from October 10 to 21, 2022. Everyone, from teachers, parents, and students, did their best to cooperate, with 109 people participating. In the spirit of “cherishing things and blessings,” families donated their unwanted clothes and shoes to give them a second life when people in need in the community received them. The drive seamlessly combined charity with environmental protection through recycling second-hand yet still valuable goods. A total of 250 bags of donated clothing were collected and delivered to a charity distribution site.
