Following the 2017 Mexico earthquake, the local Morelos Institute - a school in the municipality of Jojutla - was reduced to rubble. During a Tzu Chi disaster relief assessment, it was revealed that the school’s rebuilding would pose a great difficulty for the community.

Between September 9th and the 13th, a group of Tzu Chi volunteers from Argentina, Denmark, Global HQ, and Tzu Chi USA traveled to Mexico to follow-up on the Building Trust with Love: Morelos Institute mission - a construction project to rebuild the Jojutla community following the 2017 earthquake that shook the country.

Temperature in the Greater Dallas area dropped below freezing from November 11th until the 13th, with nights so cold that temperatures plummeted to below freezing at 21°F (-6°C). In response to this state of weather emergency, the city of Dallas collaborated with the Tzu Chi Dallas branch to open a temporary overflow homeless shelter in the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center
