School Hours
- For the 2023-2024 school year, classes start on 9/9/2023.
- A weekly Saturday class from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, from September current year to next June (total for 32 weeks classes)
- School offers 2 hours of Mandarin Learning and 1 hour of Humanitarian Culture study.
Classes
- Heritage Classes are designed for Chinese-speaking students from Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st through 9th Grades with class materials in Bopomofo and traditional Chinese characters.
- CSL Classes (Chinese as the Second Language) are designed for non-Chinese speaking students from CSL1 through CSL7 with class materials in Hanyu Pinyin and traditional Chinese characters.
Class Size
- All Heritage Classes are limited to 20 students per class.
- All CSL classes are limited to 15 students.
- A class with less than 12 students enrolled or due to special reasons may be canceled.
- For the vacancy of a class, the siblings of a returning student enrolled on or before 3/30 will be placed first. The rest will be placed based on the enrollment order until the class is filled.
Age
- All students enrolling in the Pre-K (PK) class must be 4 years old by the first day of school (9/9/2023).
- Enrolling in CSL-1 must be 5 years old by the first day of school (9/9/2023 ).

Uniform
Students are required to wear the uniform during the class session: the Tzu-chi Academy upper outer garment with navy blue khaki trousers and white sneakers. The Tzu-chi Academy upper outer garment can be purchased from the school at the beginning of the school year. Navy blue khaki trousers and white sneakers can be purchased at stores like Kohl’s, Target, and Walmart.

The Placement Test
The Placement Test is used to assess the student’s Chinese language skill to fit into the intended grade. Based on the assessment result, the student will be placed in the best-fit grade which may not be the original intended grade.
All new students enrolling in all grades except Pre-K and CSL-1 are required to take the Placement Test before enrollment. Acceptance will be based on the test result and class vacancy. Before enrollment, please contact the school staff at [email protected] to schedule the test.

- Weekly reminders regarding school events will be sent to your email inbox.
- Parents of new students are required to attend the New Student Parents Orientation.The Orientation time and details will be notified via email.
- Parents are required to fulfill class and school duties during the school year.

Registration fee (not refundable) for the student (new and returning) is $40.

Refund Policy
- Tuition refund processing may take 4-6weeks. The Registration Fee is not refundable.
- 100% Tuition refund for requests received before 9/01/2023.
- 75%Tuition refund for requests received before 10/15/2023.
- 50% Tuition refund for requests received before 12/1/2023.
- No refund for any requests starting 12/1/2023.

班級人數
- 傳統班 (幼兒班 至九年級)每班人數以20 人爲限。
- 雙語班以15人爲限。
- 學生人數不足12人或其他因素需考量時，學校有開班決定權。
- 在校生弟妹在3/30 之前報名幼兒班享有優先權， 其餘新生按照收件順序列，額滿爲止。
年齡
- 報名幼兒班(PK) 開需於開學日（9/9/2023）之前滿四歲，(於2017年9月9日之前出生)。
- 報名CSL 1時開需於開學日（9/9/2023）之前滿五歲。
制服
學生必須穿著印有慈濟人文學校校徽之上衣及深藍色卡其長褲和白球鞋。上衣在學校購買，深藍色卡其長褲和白布鞋則於Target, Walmart 以及 Kohl’s 等商店購買。 制服費用: 短袖$15， 長袖$18。 訂購制服請填寫 學生制服訂購單，領取制服時以支票或現金支付費用。退費／休學須知
- 已註冊學生申請退費時，註冊之報名費恕不退回；欲辦理退費／休學請洽註冊組，並填退費申請單。
- 學校若因班級人數不足無法開班時，校方退還所有費用，不扣除手續費。
插班考試
報名注音班以上 （ 包含 CSL 2 以上），均需參加「程度測驗」，依各班名額以及程度分班。新生家長報名前請先Email 與學校聯絡。學校電郵：[email protected]家長注意事項

- 新生家長需要參加家長説明會， 説明會將在八月舉行，時間和細節將以電郵通知。
- 家長有義務參與班級和校園輪值。
