Tzu Chi USA’s Environmental Character Education courses returned to Shelyn Elementary School on May 23, 2023, to conduct an environmental lesson on “Resource Recycling” for nearly 500 students from kindergarten to sixth grade in three sessions.
Ten years after the start of the Syrian Civil War, the Tzu Chi Character Education team, in conjunction with El Menahil School teachers, introduced a character education program in hopes of helping children refugees overcome the psychological burdens of war.
One of Tzu Chi’s greatest joys is seeing the ways in which its mission is mirrored in other important endeavors everywhere. Volunteers saw this very connection when they visited Katherine Johnson Technology Magnet Academy on August 11, 2022. Staff learned about Tzu Chi’s character education programming and accepted a proposal for Meatless Monday at the school.

To support the needs of their students, the Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy at A. Maceo Smith (BOMLA) in Dallas, Texas, has collaborated with Tzu Chi volunteers to hold Character Education training courses online, enabling teachers to integrate Jing Si Aphorisms into their lessons.

Focused on the bilingual teachings of Tzu Chi Education, Arthur Chou, founder of the Seal of Biliteracy, was impressed on his visit to Tzu Chi Elementary School and Tzu Chi Great Love Preschool in Walnut, CA.
On January 21, 2024, more than 500 community members and Tzu Chi volunteers gathered at Tzu Chi Central Region’s year-end blessing ceremony, sharing the “Footprints of Love” of the past year.
Two Tzu Chi Great Love Preschools in Southern California organized a gratitude and blessing graduation ceremony for their graduating students. Teachers presented each student with a tassel and handed them their first graduation certificate and graduation gift, marking an important milestone in their lives.
