Job Description
The Accounts Receivable performs a wide variety of financial activities related to the accurate processing for payment of invoices; recording, updating, and reconciling fiscal information. This position works closely with schools and all departments by processing all cash, check, and credit card receipts. This position also needs to provide support to the Finance Department in accordance with the established financial practices and guidelines.
- Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
- Uploads and records cash, check, and credit card payments from various systems outside the Accounting System.
- Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers.
- Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
- Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent account holders to request payment.
- Creates reports in regards to the current status of customer accounts as requested and sales tax reporting.
- Reconcile accounts receivable/tuition on a periodic basis and researches customer discrepancies.
- Maintains uniform inventory, calculates uniforms Cost of Goods sold and tuition paid in advance accounts.
- Assists in the preparation of monthly and year end closing reports.
- Assists in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.
- Assists the Accounting Manager in reconciling revenue accounts monthly.
- Prepares supporting documentation and information for the annual financial audit.
- Provides support for other accounting team members.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Experience
At least 2 years experience in a similar role.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Strong math and computer skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, accountability, and efficiency.
- Must pass a background check.
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
