Who We Are
Tzu Chi Academy, Pittsburgh, provides students from kindergarten through high school with quality programs not only encompassing Chinese language studies, but positive character building. Through a “Still Thoughts” teaching approach, we weave compassion, teamwork, and integrity into the curriculum in a calm, caring, and motivational environment.
Tzu Chi Academy, Pittsburgh, was founded by Tzu Chi USA’s Pittsburgh Chapter in September 2002. In September 2008, Tzu Chi Academy, Pittsburgh, officially became the 20th Tzu Chi Academy in the USA. Humanistic studies are required curriculum courses. To emphasize both knowledge and life ethics, we intertwine compassion, gratitude, respect, and sincerity into our Still Thoughts teachings. With the combined efforts of teachers, parents, and volunteers, a loving campus is created to present the unique qualities of our humanistic educational approach.
The Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation is an international charitable organization founded in 1966 by Dharma Master Cheng Yen. The word “Tzu” means compassion, and “Chi” means relief. For more information, please visit https://www.tzuchi.us/
