Formed in 2007, LaMigo has been playing hit songs and classics in English, Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese, and Japanese across Southern California. Comprised of immigrants, band members come from professional backgrounds in accounting, engineering, and more, yet remain bonded by their love of music and spreading joy.
Established in 1994, STC Performing Arts shares the beauty and art of Asian culture through folk dance. Using Buddhist mudras, or symbolic hand gestures, Tzu Chi’s Sign Language Arts hold a distinct place in Tzu Chi’s culture. Led by Nathan Chun, the Inland Tzu Shao Youth Association Orchestra is composed of high school and middle school students with a love of music as well as community service. In their spare time, its young members visit nursing homes and perform at events by Tzu Chi USA, hoping to spread cheer and represent the positive wishes of young people.
Our in-house choir consists of nearly 20 Tzu Chi volunteers and 10 Tzu Shao volunteers, or members of Tzu Chi’s youth association. “Unwavering Compassion,” the 2021 Tzu Chi USA Headquarters Charity Concert, marks their on-stage debut.

Our programs benefit communities working to overcome COVID-19, disaster, poverty, and food insecurity. Your generosity ensures these can continue, and it’s already made the following possible:
We’re striving to lessen the burden for families struggling economically through the pandemic – including through grocery, care package, and school supply distributions. We’ve also continued to provide PPE and joined the national vaccine effort, trying to safeguard public health as much as we can.

After dry conditions in the American northwest gave way to destructive wildfires, Tzu Chi volunteers brought emergency relief in the form of 555 cash cards (totaling $206,700), eco-blankets, and emotional support that’s benfitted 1,136 people. We also continued to support survivors of previous fires, like the 2018 Camp Fire in California, start their lives anew.
Hurricane Ida made landfall in Louisiana in August and weakened into a tropical storm as it travelled northeast. Tzu Chi volunteers in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, and Texas have brought emergency financial aid to 384 households (totaling $242,100 in relief), eco-blankets, and comfort to shaken and displaced residents.

After a 7.2 magnitude earthquake rattled southwestern Haiti in August, Tzu Chi USA formed a Haiti Earthquake Response Team. Beginning in September, they travelled to plan and host emergency distributions that would bring enough food to feed 5,000 families of up to six people for as much as four weeks. They’ll continue through the end of 2021.
