Classroom Management Regulations

Registration and Payment

  • Registration is based on the order in which application forms are submitted. For certain courses, payment is required at the time of registration. Only after payment is received will your registration be considered complete, and your spot reserved.

Tuition Payment

  • Tuition can be paid by credit card, check, or cash.
  • If a check is returned by the bank, an administrative fee of $25 will be charged.

Age Restrictions

  • Except for Parent-Child and Children’s Series courses, all courses are limited to adults aged 18 and above. Parent-Child courses require a parent to accompany the child. Children’s Series courses may have different age requirements depending on the instructor.

Fee Information

  • Tuition does not include the cost of books, materials, handouts, etc.
  • For courses with certification requirements, please refer to the specific fee details for that course.

Transfers and Refunds

  • Those who voluntarily join a course mid-session will be accepted at the discretion of the Continuing Education administrative staff, based on class size and course arrangement, and no tuition discount will be given for classes missed before joining.
  • For all other cancellations or refund requests, please refer to the refund policy.

Classroom Rules

  • Trial class participants must contact the office in advance. Only upon approval will administrative staff escort them into the classroom. Trial classes are limited to one session in order to protect the rights of paying students.
  • Do not bring young children or pets to class to avoid disrupting the session.
  • Except for drinking water, no food is allowed in the classroom to prevent pests and odors. Please help maintain the cleanliness and quality of the classroom environment.

Absences and Material Pickup

  • Please take note of your class schedule. Students who miss class or take leave for personal reasons are not entitled to make-up sessions or refunds. Substitutes (friends or family attending in your place) are strictly prohibited.
  • If class materials are not collected on the same day or by an appointed person, they will not be held for you (administrative staff and instructors will not collect materials on your behalf).

Course Opening Requirements

  • As Tzu Chi Continuing Education courses receive no government subsidies, the center reserves the right to determine whether a course will open. If the minimum enrollment is not met, the course will be canceled.

Photography and Filming

  • No photography or filming is allowed during class. For special needs, please apply in advance to both the administrative staff and the instructor to respect the instructor’s intellectual property and the portrait rights of classmates.

Course Content Adjustments

  • The Continuing Education team reserves the right to adjust course content as needed.

Restrictions on Commercial Activities

  • Commercial activities are prohibited during class. No distribution of business cards or promotional materials is allowed. Any business interactions between instructors and students are unrelated to Tzu Chi.

Venue Usage Guidelines

  • The facilities used are also Tzu Chi cultivation grounds. Please observe the following: No smoking, no alcohol, no meat products. Maintain modest, non-revealing attire.

Refund Policy

If a course cannot be opened due to insufficient enrollment or other considerations decided by the Tzu Chi Continuing Education Center, the full tuition will be refunded, and students will be notified by email before the course start date.

If a student cancels their registration at least one week before the course starts, the full tuition will be retained as credit. This credit may be used by the student within the same calendar year for any course at the Tzu Chi Continuing Education Center and cannot be carried over to the next year.

If a student finds the course unsuitable for personal reasons, they may request a transfer to another class within three weeks of the start date. If the new course has a higher tuition fee, the difference must be paid. Transfers cannot be made after three weeks from the course start date.

If more than one-third of the course sessions have already taken place, no refunds or credits will be given. Failure to notify administrative staff within the specified time frame will be considered an unexcused absence; no make-up sessions, refunds, or credits will be provided.

Application Method

  • Refund requests must be made in writing, with the date received as the standard. Applications can be submitted via email or in person at the Continuing Education office.

Our Shared Understanding

  • Bring a reusable cup; drinking water is provided in class. (To support environmental protection, please avoid bottled water.)
  • Do not bring food into the classroom.
  • Arrive 10 minutes before class; drive slowly and yield to pedestrians when entering and exiting the campus.
  • Sign in before class and help maintain the classroom’s cleanliness.
  • Follow classroom etiquette and uphold cultural values.
  • If unable to attend, notify administrative staff in advance.
  • Keep mobile phones on silent during class and do not take calls inside the classroom.
