School Details
School hours
  • School begins on August 15, 2026, and takes place on Saturdays between 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
 
Curriculum
  • All students have two periods of Chinese classes, and one period of Humanity class.

  • All students have two periods of Chinese classes, and one period of Humanity class.
 
Extra Curriculum
  • Humanity Classes are subject to change and may include: Flower Arrangement, Tea Ceremony, Chinese Calligraphy, Sign Language, Environmental Protection, Drawing, Family Cooking, etc.
 
Placement Test
  • All new students (first grade and above) need to take a placement test. Further notification of test dates will be provided later.
 
Class Size
  • There will be a maximum of 25 students per class (limit to 20 students only for pre-K class). For a class to commence, a minimum of 10 students is required. If the minimum number is not reached, or for any other reason, the school reserves the right to cancel the class.

Enrollment
  • Determined by the order of registration completed.
 
Parents Please Note
  • Parent Newsletters consist of reminders and important information like school events will be sent weekly via Email.
  • Parents are strongly encouraged to participate in school events throughout the school year including: Orientation, First Day of School Assembly, Parent/Teacher Conference, Chinese New Year Celebration, Mother’s Day Celebration, Last Day of School Assembly, etc.
Age
  • 4 years old to under 18 years old.
  • Pre-K class is available for beginners who are at least 4 years old before September 2, 2026. 
  • ZuYin class ~ higher grade classes are available from ages 5 and up. New students enrolled in first grade or higher will be assessed before enrollment. 
 
Uniform
  • Students are required to wear Tzu Chi Academy uniforms.
  • Navy blue Khaki trousers and white sneakers may be purchased at stores such as Kohl’s, Target or Walmart.
  • Registration fee: $20 (non-refundable)
  • Tuition: $550
  • Uniform: $85 (all new students must purchase uniforms)
  • Returning students:  03/08/25.
  • New students:  03/22/25. 

Who We Are

Our School

Tzu Chi Academy, Tri-Valley was founded in 2011. It is the 21th Tzu Chi Academy in the US and the 5th in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Our mission is to offer an excellent academic curriculum with combined interactive opportunities to help students build character and develop virtues.  Our objective is to effectively cultivate well-rounded global citizens with a humanistic worldview.  Fostering positive traits such as kindness, tolerance, self-discipline, trustworthiness, and integrity, while emphasizing the values of gratitude, respect, and love, is central to our mission.

We provide the heritage Mandarin Chinese language and culture program and humanity classes for students between 4 and 18 years old.

We also offer accreditation classes for high school students. Our Mandarin Chinese classes are approved by Pleaseanton, Dublin, San Ramon, Livermore, Santa Clara, Livermore, Tracy school districts and Stanford Online High School to get high school credits.

Our school is accredited by WASC since 2021.

As of 2025-2026 school year, we have 17 classes and 308 students.
