The following amount is for the full academic year per student.
At Tzu Chi Academy, our quality educational curriculum encompasses not only Chinese language studies, but humanistic culture, bringing the importance of compassion into the classroom. Weaving these two objectives together, Tzu Chi Academy cultivates love and respect for all people. Through this solid foundation in language skills and character building, students nurture integrity, self-esteem, and care for their community.
Our Goal
Upholding the comprehensive educational philosophy of Tzu Chi’s founder, Dharma Master Cheng Yen, our goal is to cultivate students’ sense of compassion and giving, teaching them to apply their Chinese language, culture, and humanities studies daily, and building a solid foundation for their future.
Our Principles
We are a nonprofit educational institution that upholds the Tzu Chi spirit and philosophy by offering a positive and motivational learning environment.
The school curriculum includes Jing Si Aphorism studies, which are succinct quotations from Dharma Master Cheng Yen’s daily talks. These words of wisdom are non-religious and can be easily applied in daily life. As a symbol of equality and equanimity, all faculty and students wear uniforms. The ease of recognition also helps to keep our school campus safe. Class-Moms and Class-Dads (volunteer parents) are key components at the Academy. They assist the teachers and the students in class in various ways.
Academic Programs
We offer Chinese language instruction from Pre-K to 10th grade, teaching traditional Chinese characters with the assistance of two phonetic systems: the zhuyin (bopomofo) system and the pinyin phonetic system.
Academic Calendar & School Hours
The academic year starts in September and ends in June. Schools are open on Sundays from 9:30 AM-12:00 PM.
Online learning is the primary mode for 8th, 9th, and 10th grade; in-person classes are the main option for 7th grade or below, with the choice of online classes also available
