School Details

• First Day of School: September 13, 2026
• School Hours:
  Pre-KClass： Sunday 9:30 am – 11:00 am.
  Regular Class：Sunday 9:30 am – 1:00pm.
  • Language: 09:30 am ~ 11:15 am
  • Snack time: 11:15 am ~ 11:35am
  • Humanity :11:35 am ~ 12:05 am
  • Chinese culture:12:10 pm ~ 01:00 pm
• The language lessen will use 學華語向前走as basic material, teacher will add supplement material. 
• Extra Curriculum : The Chinese Culture lesson is optional. The school will, based on students’ interest, assign them to the following courses: Art and Craft, Painting, KungFu, Chinese Yo-Yo and games. 
• Class Size: There will be a maximum of 25 students per class. For a class to commence, a minimum of 5 students is required.  If the minimum number is not reached, or for any other reason, the school reserves the right to cancel the class.
• Class Arrangment: All new students will be interviewed and assigned to the adequate class. Returning students will be assigned to the class based on the previous teacher’s recommendation.
  
  

Parents Please Note

• A weekly reminder regarding school events will be sent on Friday either to your Email or as text or voice message. 
• Parents are strongly urged to participate in school activities throughout the school year including: Orientation, First Day of School Assembly, Parent/Teacher Conference, Chinese New Year Celebration Humanity Class, Buddha-Bathing Ceremony Humanity Class (May), Last Day of School Assembly.
  
  

Requirements

• Age: 3.5 years old to under 18 years old. 
  Pre-k class is available for beginner’s levels of proficiency from ages 3.5.
  Must be at least 3.5 years old before September 13, 2026.
  Students aged 5 and up can enroll in regular classes, the school will assign the class based on the student’s qualification.
• Uniform:
  Students are required to wear Tzu chi uniforms (shirt) which can be purchased from the school office. Uniform purchase needs to be paid separately through cash or by check payable to Pittsburgh Tzu Chi Academy.
