School Information
School hours
- School begins on August 16, 2026, and takes place Sunday between 9 AM – 11:30AM.
Curriculum
- 2 hrs Chinese class (9:00-11:00AM), 30 min Humanitarian Class (11:00-11:30), total of 2.5 hrs.
Chinese Curriculum
- Use Let’s Lean Mandarin for curriculum
Extra Curriculum
- Elective classes and after school clubs (11:45AM)-12:30PM) will be announced before the school starts.
Class Size
- There will be a maximum of 10-12 students per class. For a class to commence, a minimum of 6-10 students is required. If the minimum number is not reached, or for any other reason, the school reserves the right to cancel the class.
Parents Please Note
- A weekly news & updates regarding school events will be sent on Friday either to your Email or as text or voice message.
- Parents are strongly urged to participate in school activities throughout the school year including: Orientation, First Day of School Assembly, Parent/Teacher Conference, Chinese New Year Celebration Humanity Class, Buddha-Bathing Ceremony Humanity Class (May), Last Day of School Assembly.
Requirement
Age
- 5 years old to under 18 years old.
- Must be at least 5 years old before August 16, 2026.
- New students enrolled in advanced BoPoMo / advanced Pinyin or higher will be assessed before enrollment.
Uniform
- Tzu Chi Academy polo-shirt, Navy Blue or Black Khaki pants/shorts and dark color sneakers
- Students are required to wear Tzu Chi uniforms. Please purchase Tzu Chi Academy polo-shirts from the school office, which need to be paid separately through cash or by check payable to TZU CHI ACADEMY.
- Navy Blue or Black Khakipants/shorts may be purchased at stores such as Kohl’s, Target or Walmart.
Tuition and Fee (Per Annum Basis, Not Tax Deductible):
- Returning students, who enroll in class before 04/12/26.
- Chinese Class Tuition: $225 x 2=$450 (Per Academic Year = Two semesters).
- For current students only: Registration completed by 04/24/26, a $5 discount will be applied.
Register under same family account:
- Two students enrolled per household, a $5 discount from total tuition will be applied.
- Three students enrolled per household, a $10 discount from total tuition will be applied.
- Four students or more enrolled per household, a $15 discount from total tuition will be applied.

Withdrawal and Refund Procedure
- Parents will need to complete a “Leave of Absence/Withdrawal Application” form if a student needs to be withdrawn. The form can be picked up from the school office.
- Tuition can be fully refunded if the withdrawal form is received, stamp dated and processed before the begging of the 1st class of the 1st semester, and will be charged $25 Processing Fee.
- A 75% tuition refund will be processed if the withdrawal form is received , stamp dated and processed after the begging of the 1st class of the 1st semester and before the end of the 4th class of the 1st semester, but will be charged $25 Processing Fee.
- A 50% tuition refund will be processed if the withdrawal form is received, stamp dated and processed after the end of the 4th class of the 1st semester and before the begging of the 1st class of the second semester , but will be charged $25 Processing Fee.
- Tuition will not refunded after the beginning of the 1st class of the second semester.
- If classes are not offered due to class size, the full amount of paid tuition will be refunded.

Our School
Tzu Chi Academy Cupertino established in September 1999, aims to promote Tzu Chi’s humanity education. The curriculum includes cultural classes, including current affairs, doing good deeds, filial piety, environmental protection, mutual help and other current world issues, so that children can use Chinese in their lives while learning Chinese.
