The Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation is honored to receive a wildfire relief grant from L.A. Care Health Plan to support individuals and families directly impacted by the 2025 Los Angeles County Wildfires. This partnership advances equitable wildfire recovery efforts across Los Angeles County, prioritizing low-income, underserved, and marginalized communities.
As the Local Initiative Health Authority for Los Angeles County, L.A. Care Health Plan invests in community and public health initiatives that expand access to care, strengthen safety net providers, and close systemic gaps affecting vulnerable populations. Through the L.A. Care Network and Community Relief Fund, L.A. Care Health Plan is reinforcing healthcare and social service systems disrupted by the 2025 wildfires, with a focus on behavioral health, post-acute care, and coordinated community-based services.
Aligned with Tzu Chi’s mission of disaster relief, health equity, and long-term recovery, this grant provides wildfire-impacted individuals with monthly direct financial assistance and comprehensive case management services. Tzu Chi’s person-centered model integrates housing stability support, healthcare navigation, mental health resources, and access to essential services to help survivors rebuild their lives with dignity.
Program priorities include serving uninsured and under-insured homeowners and renters, newly displaced individuals experiencing homelessness, low-wage workers and day laborers, seniors, children and youth, and individuals with acute or special healthcare needs. Through individualized case management and coordinated care systems, the program addresses wildfire-related disruptions that have widened existing gaps in care.
