WHY SUPPORT

Disaster Relief

This summer, deadly wildfires swept through the Hawaiian island of Maui, prompting emergency financial aid distributions where we provided cash cards, eco-blankets, personal care items, and emotional comfort for grief-stricken survivors. We’re committed to helping families in the long-term while also getting ready for when the next disaster may strike in the US.

Educational Support via Scholarships

With higher education becoming more out of reach for young people than ever, Tzu Chi offices across the US are offering scholarships to civic-minded students to help them ease the burden on their wallets. These funds can help students cover their expenses, including tuition, books, or transportation, while offering them encouragement to pursue a bright future.

Long-Term Relief for Families in Need

We’re also providing support to those with diverse needs, including those experiencing undue hardship from illness, displacement/relocation from their home country (including families from Ukraine and Afghanistan), and other extenuating circumstances. Whether it’s through financial aid, grocery donations, or providing medical support, we’re a resource for families in dire straits.
