In March and April, we will hold the second series of English-language Tzu Chi Spiritual Care Workshops. This time, the topic is “Embracing Diversity – Reflective Practices in SpiritualCare.” In the workshop series, attendees will get practices, techniques and knowledge to prepare for providing spiritual care to people of diverse faiths and backgrounds.

Master Cheng Yen’s teaching on the Four-Ingredient Spiritual Soup of Contentment, Gratitude, Understanding and Acceptance are paired with reflective techniques including self-assessment, intentional presence, and self-reflection, as well as skillful understanding of a multifaith world.

The workshops will include concept presentations, sharings from professionals and spiritual care practitioners, interactive exercises, discussions, and peer learning. Apart from promoting reflection and spiritual care skills, another objective of the series is to build a supportive community of Tzu Chi spiritual caregivers. A certificate of completion will be provided for attendees who participate in the full workshop series. Completion of this workshop series is one of the prerequisites for attending the upcoming Tzu Chi Disaster Chaplaincy Certification Program with formal launch in 2022. Those who completed both prerequisites are eligible to be invited to join the Chaplaincy Certification Program.
