This upcoming August is the 7th Lunar Month in the traditional Chinese calendar, also known as Ghost Month. Throughout the month communities join together to celebrate gratitude and filial piety.
In honor of this auspicious month, Tzu Chi Central Region Regional Office will host its 13th annual 7th Lunar Month celebration of weekly Veggie Luncheons every Sunday at 12:00 pm throughout August. The celebrations will gather the community to pay respect to our past and look forward to the future with discussions on climate action. Exact food proportions are prepared in advance to avoid food waste and promote universal conservation.
On the final Sunday in August, a special prayer ceremony will be held at 11:30 am prior to the last Veggie Luncheon for the month in honor of our ancestors, communal gratitude and the future of our planet.
All are welcome to attend each luncheon as we explore conservation, environmentalism, and reduction of food waste, all while enjoying a delightful vegetarian meal and appreciating our ancestors.
Get ready to dig in! We’ll see you there.
RSVP is necessary for meal accommodations.
Please RSVP in advance at 972-680-8869.
