Location

After a disaster, how can we ensure the vulnerable and marginalized feel empowered to build back stronger and become more resilient to climate-related hazards?

At this interactive side event for the United Nations’ 2019 High Level Political Forum, Tzu Chi USA will bring together international NGOs, guests, and UN entities to illuminate the best practices put in place after Cyclone Idai, which empowered communities impacted by the disaster to take climate action and address SDG 13.1 from the ground up.

Additionally, representatives will discuss emerging opportunities and challenges faced for a sustained mid to long-term response in the countries impacted by Cyclone Idai.
