On the night of March 14th to the 15th, a devastating cyclone touched down and brought terrible destruction to the East African nations of Mozambique, Malawi, Zimbabwe, and Madagascar. Since then, the number of lives taken by the storm and all that followed has only continued to rise. As of April 10, 2019, the death toll in southeast Africa has reached over 1,000 people, and more than 4,000 cases of cholera have been reported among Mozambique’s survivors.
The people of East Africa are in dire need of your love and support – mothers, fathers, children, and the elderly, who have now lost their homes and their livelihoods.
Tzu Chi volunteers deliver your care in person with sincerity and respect. We provide not only monetary assistance, but compassion, a listening ear, and an all-embracing heart. Join hands with us to heal the hearts and homes of those impacted by this deadly cyclone.
All donations made to Tzu Chi USA will benefit our Cyclone Idai relief mission.
How we’ll help
Tzu Chi volunteers will be distributing food, monetary aid, blankets, stationery, water purification agents, and mosquito nets, in addition to carrying out an assessment for the reconstruction of schools, and providing emergency medical care.
