Tzu Chi USA is humbled to share it has recently received a $250,000 grant from the American Red Cross, our frequent partners in disaster relief. The funds are specifically dedicated to long-term recovery for Texans still grappling with the aftermath of 2017’s Hurricane Harvey.
To date, we have offered over $7 million in direct aid to families affected by this disaster, and now, through our grant, we will be working with families in the counties of Rockport, Port Arthur, and Wharton under Tzu Chi USA’s CORE (Community Outreach Recovery and Education) program. We are proud to start this new endeavor thanks to the help of the American Red Cross.
