In 1997, with the humble goal of spreading compassion and kindness to the next generation, Bay Area Tzu Chi Foundation volunteers gathered to form the first Tzu Chi Academy in Northern California: Tzu Chi Academy, San Mateo.
Mandarin and Humanistic Learning
Master Cheng Yen encourages all children to develop into well-rounded human beings. In addition to our two hours of Mandarin Learning, we have a period dedicated to culture and character building curriculum. Gratitude, respect, and love are at the core of our learning as human beings. These values extend not only towards our families, but also to our environment. Activities are designed to bring these characteristics into real life, for example: recycling stations, kindness challenges, and visiting senior centers during holidays.
Dual Tracks Mandarin Learning
Academy of San Mateo welcomes students from all backgrounds to our 32-week programs.programs. Families that speak Mandarin Chinese at home can join our traditional track focusing more on reading and writing. Families that speak other languages at home can join our bilingual track focusing more on listening, speaking, and typing.
27 years after our humble beginnings, we continue to strive to become well-rounded human beings, growing with our students and families in a loving and caring environment. We welcome you to join us.

普通話和人文教學
證嚴法師鼓勵所有的孩子成為全面發展的人。我們除了有兩個小時的普通話學習之外，還有專門的文化和品格教育課程。感恩、尊重和愛是我們人類學習的核心價值。這些價值不僅延伸至於我們的家庭,也至於我們的環境。活動旨在將這些特點帶入現實生活，例如：回收站、慈悲挑戰以及在假期之中訪問老人院。
雙軌普通話教學
聖馬刁人文學校歡迎來自不同背景的學生參加我們為期三十二週的課程。在家說普通話的家庭，可以加入我們更注重閱讀和寫作的傳統課程。在家說其他語言的家庭，可以加入我們的雙語課程，更注重聽力、口語和打字。
在我們謙卑的開始 27 年後，我們持續努力讓孩子成為全面發展的人，陪伴我們的學生和家人在充滿愛與關懷的環境中一起成長。歡迎您加入我們！
