On Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving happening on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, you’re invited to tune into the livestream of Tzu Chi USA’s annual charity concert.
This year, we’re fundraising to support three important causes: our emergency flood and Hurricane Ian relief efforts, long-term recovery from disasters (resulting from climate change, including wildfires), as well as those impacted by war in Ukraine.
During our family friendly program, enjoy special performances and see the impact we’ve already made this year. You’ll also be able to donate before and during our program, with a generous donation match up to $150,000. Save the date and watch it live right here!

“Lead With Love” & “Give Love”
Joining the Tzu Chi USA Giving Tuesday Concert for the second year in a row, enjoy Broadway-inspired performances from New York’s best theatrical talents, including a tribute to Ukraine.
Bart Shatto
Broadway veteran Bart Shatto has appeared in Tony-nominated musicals War Paint, Dracula, and as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables. He is also part of the original Broadway casts of The Civil War and Hands on a Hardbody.
Rosa Martínez
Rosa is a Latin Pop Artist from NJ. In 2020, she released her very own self titled EP “Reina Mar: The EP.” Rosa’s goals through her music are to take listeners on a journey through her life, sharing her ups and downs, including through love, heartbreak, and finding oneself.
Jeffrey Kringer
An acclaimed stage performer immersed in New York City’s theater and nightclub venues, Jeffrey has toured nationally in productions like About Love, Cruel Intentions: The 90’s Musical, West Side Story, and more. He is also a filmmaker and founded the production company, FRAGMENT.

Watch a mesmerizing performance that combines the unique and emotive sound of the Asian string instrument, the erhu, and the piano from the islands of Hawaii.
Sun Hui
Erhu
Born in Taiwan, Sun Hui is an award-winning erhu player whose musical education spans more than 20 years. She earned her Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology from Ohio State University, and has collaborated with contemporary composers & musicians around the world. Sun Hui currently lives in Hawaii.
Pierre Grill
Piano
A French native based in Hawaii, Pierre Grill has been a music producer and engineer for over 40 years, working with many of Hawai‘i’s finest musicians. He owns Rendez-Vous Recording, the longest standing music studio across the Hawaiian Islands, replete with the latest equipment and instruments from around the world.

Performed in its original Ukrainian by the Havyrlov Family, and later in English by Makeda Rose, this song has become an anthem of sorts for the plight of the Ukrainian people through war with Russia.
Four Generations of the Havrylov Family
Liudmyla, Tatiana, Svitlana, Yelyzaveta and Mykhailo
Havrylov are a Ukrainian family living in Brooklyn, NY. They are performing publicly for the first time together at Tzu Chi USA’s 2022 Giving Tuesday Charity Concert.
Makeda Rose
A Baltimore native, Makeda is a singer, actress, and dancer. She received professional training till the age of 18 in opera, theater, and dance through mentorship from the Baltimore Modell Lyric Opera House, and was accepted for a full scholarship for voice performance from Azusa Pacific University.
“Shining Star”
Composed of recent alumni and college students from the University of Washington, this group of Tzu Chi’s Young Leaders from Seattle are connected by their love of music, hoping to spread positivity to people everywhere.
Evelyn Cheng
Vocalist
Evelyn is a research assistant with a degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. In addition to singing, she plays several instruments.
Nat Chiu
Piano
Nat double majors in Economics/Global and Regional Studies. Born and raised in Argentina to Taiwanese parents, she has been exposed to a variety of different instruments and music styles from a young age.
Ling Ling Lee
Violin
Ling Ling majors in Global Public Health. She first fell in love with music in elementary school while playing violin with her friends during orchestra practice.
Emma Sturgill
Guitar
Emma majors in Marine Biology and Linguistics. She started learning the piano at nine and slowly added more instruments to her repertoire.
Christina Kuo
Drums
Christina is a Human Centered Design & Engineering major. She learned fundamental skills in drumming in the ninth grade, and has since taken a self-taught approach.

In this violin solo, Elizabeth Wei performs a musical piece composed by Edward Elgar in 1888.

Elizabeth Wei is a double major in Violin Performance & Applied and Computational Mathematics at USC. She began her violin studies at seven years old and has studied with Jan Mark Sloman and Lina Bahn. In 2020, she received a full scholarship for the National Symphony Orchestra’s Music Institute and is featured in a masterclass with violinist Gil Shaham.
Rufus Bordal
Piano
Rufus is a senior at USC’s Thornton School of Music, studying Piano Performance with a minor in Jazz Studies. He has performed as a concerto soloist with the USC Student Symphony, Antelope Valley Symphony Orchestra, the Pasadena Community Orchestra, and many others. Passionate about music as a medium for connection, Rufus has also volunteered his time to perform in convalescent homes.

We’re also supporting those who’ve been impacted by war in Ukraine (especially those who’ve fled to neighboring countries) with Sodexo and supermarket gift cards. We’re also meeting other basic needs, especially for women and children, with the help of 11 partner NGOs.
