《法華會上》：2021美國慈濟經藏演繹
慈濟55週年在七月吉祥月之際，慈濟美國匯聚全美志工以手語、戲劇、唱誦、擊鼓等型態，舉辦《法華會上》2021美國慈濟線上直播經藏演繹；這場特別的線上法會，將讓與會者感受二千五百多年前，佛陀在靈鷲山法華會上宣講《無量義經》與《法華經》大法的瑞相場景，呈現慈濟一路走來「人間菩薩道」的精神理念。
有關《無量義經》
《無量義經》是《法華經》的開經，是開權顯實的樞紐。內容分為三品，〈德行品〉、〈說法品〉、〈十功德品〉，其含意在教導眾生行菩薩道、破除我執，了悟法本就是清淨平等、不生不滅的大菩提道，也就是佛陀本懷，若能了悟力行，就能去習氣，回歸清淨本性。
有關《法華經》
《妙法蓮華經》（通常略稱為《法華經》）是大乘佛教的重要經典之一。本經是釋迦牟尼佛晚年在王舍城靈鷲山上所說，為大乘佛教要典之一，旨在闡述「一佛乘」之理，弘揚「三乘歸一」即聲聞、緣覺、菩薩三乘歸於一佛乘，本經素有「諸經之王」、「諸經中寶」之稱，兼具宗教性、哲理性與實踐性，以蓮花意喻眾生於五濁惡世中，可修慈悲德行之功德智慧，如蓮花生於淤泥之中卻不為所染，證佛之微妙無上法，令一切眾生皆能成佛。
慈濟精神來自《無量義經》之法華緣起
慈濟創辦人證嚴法師早年在臺東偶然看到「法華三部」，順手拿起《無量義經》翻閱時，讀到「靜寂清澄，志玄虛漠，守之不動，億百千劫」這段文字，非常震撼，開啟對此部經典的探索。其深感每一句經文都是適用於社會，能在生活中力行，濟度群生，即以《無量義經》作為一生奉行的重要經典，對慈濟人來說是修行「利他度己」最重要的精神依歸。
爾後證嚴法師在每日晨間開示時為弟子講述《妙法蓮華經》，光是講到「妙法」二字，就說了將近四個月還未說完。感受到佛法的深奧，深入思惟這樣的法，大家是否真的能聽懂、能體會？從那個時開始，師父體悟到要引領人走菩薩道，不要講很深的道理，而是「做就對了」、「做就是了」，大家做對的事情，那就是法。
這即是奠定日後證嚴法師創建慈濟行菩薩道的理念–「靜思法脈勤行道、慈濟宗門人間路」。

Entering the Path of Love and Compassion
2021 Tzu Chi USA Musical Sutra Adaptation
Please join Tzu Chi USA in a live broadcast that honors the auspicious seventh month on the lunar calendar. You’ll see musical adaptations of the Sutra of Infinite Meanings and the beginning of the Lotus Sutra, as performed by Tzu Chi volunteers streaming in from all across the United States. We will also include a special performance of the song, “Love and Compassion,” an underlying message of these sacred Buddhist teachings.
What is the Sutra of Infinite Meanings?
This Sutra is an ancient Mahayana Buddhist text called Amitarthasutra in Sanskrit. It is made up of three main chapters, including on Virtues, Expounding the Dharma, and the Ten Merits. In many respects, it sums up the essence of the Lotus Sutra, which it precedes.
What is the Lotus Sutra?
Considered one of the most influential Buddhist texts in all existence, the Lotus Sutra outlines several key ideas in Buddhism; one of them being that by taking actions that follow the path of the Dharma, Buddhahood may be attained.
What connection do these have to Tzu Chi?
The Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation was founded in 1966 by Dharma Master Cheng Yen. She has since inspired countless people around the world to practice the teachings of the Lotus Sutra, as well as other sacred texts, and walk the Dharma path of love and compassion for all.
